ideal reader profile for my school magazine

Ideal reader; mums, dads, guardians or young children that attend Wood Lodge. Upper class families with good income/good job (wood lodge is a private school). Parents have been brought up with a high standard of education and there is a high education ethic within the household.

Evaluatuion Of Draft

I produced my drafts on publisher.
I think I need to add more photos on the front cover as no one will want to read it if it looks dull. 
I like the 2 pine trees theme and i will use that throughout my magazine.
I will make the name of school smaller because at the moment it reads 'The Bridge Wood Lodge'. This in incorrenct its 'The Bridge', 'Wood Lodge'.
I need to speak to my friends and ask if they mind if i take pictures of them.

Draft Cover Page & Contents Page

This is my draft for the front cover of my magazine I am at this point planning to have a 'fire' or 'hot' theme by setting the colour scheme to be red yellow & orange. I think these bold colours will make the magazine more appealing. I think by not over powering the front cover with pictures the information will be relaid clearly without complication. 

I am happy with my positioning statement, I think it sums up the magazine really well and also is selling and promoting the school.  

This is my draft copy of my contents page and the dummy articles I will include. I am proud of my idea to have the watermark running thought the magazine of the double trees. I think this is a clever way of bringing the magazine together as one. I will have more photos on this page, relating to the articles again I will use this again as self advertising and showing off the school.

Preliminary Task, My Ideas

For my school magazine I want to do a primary school magazine.
I will call my school 'Wood Lodge' and will be open from children 4-11yrs
The magazine its self will be aimed at parents and the elder students.

I will make sure it is light going and quite comic book like, with the children designing the logo and pictures of the school. It will be all about celebrating the kids and congratulating them on there successes.

for our preliminary task we have to create and make the front cover and title made for a school magazine. We are doing this to improve our software skills and so we can make out final magazines amazing!

What Is A Contents Page

A good contents page must be easy to navigate, a hub for the rest of the magazine and a bit of an advert for the whole magazine.
There are many diffrent layouts that it could be presented in.
May be catogirized or sectioned depending on its relevance/importance

Colours & Fonts

All media texts have certain signs and signifiers which send out messages to the audience. Sometimes the audience do it subconsciously because we, as a population are so used to seeing media texts all around us we don't even think about it.

Colour can communicate different messages & moods. For Example:

BLUE; feeling calm, sad, to be feeling 'blue' is feeling down and upset. Has connotations with nature, water, ocean and sky.

RED; feeling angry, danger, stop, warning, blood, horror, love, lust, valentines day. 

GREEN; feeling envious, quite a neutral colour, organic, natural. Also has connotations with feeling sick or unwell.

Fonts play a big role in how you take in the information. i analyzed 4 different fonts on Microsoft Word.
